Does My Insurance Cover A Water Heater That Burst?

SERVPRO of San Diego Bay SW/Coronado responded to this emergency call in Eastlake, CA. The homeowner heard what sounded like someone taking a shower outside, only to find that his water heater had burst from the outside closet.
Unfortunately for this homeowner the damage was already done. SERVPRO of San Diego Bay SW/Coronado was able to discover, during our free inspection, that the walls and flooring had been damaged in the bedroom next to the water heater closet.
Once the client filed a claim we were able to begin work right away. We were able to finish demolition in one day and picked up our equipment after three days of drying.
Most homeowners are unaware that an insurance company typically doesn't cover the cost of a new water heater, but does cover the damage that the water heater caused.
The homeowner was so happy with SERVPRO of San Diego Bay SW/Coronado that he left us a Five Star Google review.
